Coming together once per month re:PRESENT provides a platform for students to participate in a series of curated live events featuring YOU (current GSA students and possibly beyond), offering the opportunity to speak, present, perform, screen or show your work or discuss something publicly that interests you, in an inclusive and supportive community!

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

• The meetings will be entertaining and educational in the broadest sense, allowing attendees to learn, or gain an insight into, the practices or interests of others.
• The society provides a platform for establishing practitioners within, and outside of, GSA to present in a public manner. In this sense, the society provides public speaking, or presentation experience within a friendly and communal setting. This society was inspired in part, by the Friday Events organised by GSA, and from other soiree formats such as 5 x 15 and the German lecture series BASECAMP (https://vimeo.com/channels/basislager). Rather than this being an opportunity reserved for established practitioners, our society provides a platform for current students to speak, as well as attend as audience members.
• Additionally to extend the reach of this platform we intend to collaborate with GSA’s student radio station Hill52 on certain events. This will allow the presentations/performances or equivalent to be heard more widely as well as ensuring an audio legacy. Permission to record and broadcast will be sought and agreed in advance in all instances. Additionally, the following refreshment period provides an opportunity to network with your peers/ the wider GSA and Glasgow community.
