Information on Sport at GSASA

Glasgow School of Art Students Capacity for Involvement with Glasgow University Sport

Glasgow School of Art Students' Association has worked to get clarity for GSA students about what involvement students can have with Glasgow University's sports activity, below captures the information received.

  • Any GSA student can join University of Glasgow (UoG) Sport to make use of their facilities; gym, classes, swimming etc.  They would need to take out a Non-UoG Student monthly membership - £27 per month.
  • Any GS student can join a Glasgow University Sports Association (GUSA) club. They can train with them and play in non-student leagues.  They need to have the £27 a month membership to do this.
  • If a student is on a joint degree with Glasgow University then they can have a Glasgow University membership for sport of which there are various options (semester only, full year) and they can compete in British Universities and Colleages Sport (BUCS) and also Scottish Student Sport (SSS) leagues. Someone has to be studying at least 60 credits at GU in order to compete with a club in any of our student leagues.

Gym Information

Unfortuantely GSA does not have it's own gym to offer to GSA students on campus, although many students make use of Glasgow University provision and other gyms within the city. The GSASA has tried to support by compiling a leaflet in recent years which show some of the gym deals which exist across the city which students may wish to explore.
