It's that time of the year that we've all been patiently waiting for... the Teaching Awards 2024 is here!!

Nominations are now open!

The categories this year are:

☆ The “Outstanding Feedback” Award

☆ The “Big Dreamer” Award

☆ The “Students do Great Stuff” Award (students only)

☆ The “Inclusive Reading List” Award (Library Sponsored)

A deep dive into the "Pushing at the Boundaries" Award!

For this award you can nominate any staff member or student! 

Does their practice challenge your definitions of diversity, or might they be striving for the smallest voices to be heard? Are you someone you turn to if you need a co-collaborator? Are they a fountain of knowledge? Or are they making leaps and bounds in environmentally conscious material experimentation? What does it mean to push at the boundaries? And where do you see it at GSA?

This is an exciting new one for 2024 so we just invite you to be imaginative with your nominations and celebrate those who push at the boundaries. Whatever you think that might be...

Nomination Process

Submitting a nomination for the Teaching Awards is straightforward:

• All you need to do is click on the links below for each category and complete the online nominations form.  
• You can nominate in as many or as few categories as you like.
• If you wish to nominate more than one person for a particular award, you will have to complete the form again.
• Please only submit one nomination per person per award.
• Nominations are anonymous and will be processed by GSASA and the GSA Learning and Teaching Team.
• Please note that you will be asked to consent if you are willing to participate in a research study. This is so we can use your anonymous nomination to help us produce a report on student perspectives of excellence in learning and teaching.

Nominations will be open from Thursday 28th March until Wednesday 8th May. And the winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 5th June 2024 at 5pm.

And, at the other end of this, we will have a ceremony in the The Assembly Hall, GSASA, 20 Scott Street on Wednesday 5th June at 5pm to celebrate our GSA staff and students.

Join us for a super cool event to celebrate the Teaching Awards and hand out the prizes! At the ceremony we will announce the shortlisted and winning people for all of the awards (alongside celebrating all those who have been nominated). We will have student performances, handmade prizes and certificates, and overall good vibes!
