SRC
Students’ Association is run by, and not just for, it’s students. As such the activities of the Students’ Association are overseen by the Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC consists of a board of elected student trustees who meet to discuss matters of business, allocate funding and ensures that all activities of the Students’ Association are conducted in a manner that supports and advances our charitable objectives.
The SRC is responsible for reviewing student submissions to our open calls for applications to our Project Funding and Project Spaces. These opportunities are open to all students from all areas and levels of study and are dedicated to supporting and accommodating a range of student led projects and activities - encouraging collaboration between students from different departments and schools within GSA. We want to support your exhibitions, performances, publications, installations and events in anyway we possibly can and we look forward to hearing your ideas!
Project Spaces 1 & 2 are available for booking in 5 week blocks twice a term and can be booked out by individuals or groups for up to 1 week. We also welcome applications for projects that seek to utilise the Vic Bar, The Assembly Hall and The Lounge - please get in touch with us if you have an idea with these spaces in mind.
The Project Fund can award up to £500 to student projects every month during term time. We endeavour to meaningfully support as many projects as possible and as such, decisions regarding allocation are made democratically in discussion with the Student Representative Council (SRC).
The Project Fund is dedicated to supporting projects that are considered to be ‘extra-curricular’. Whilst we acknowledge that this term can be problematic to define, we feel that it is important that the Project Fund is not used or allocated in such a manner that participants would directly gain course credit as a result from support from the fund.
We’ve hosted and supported so many great student projects in our short time back on Garnethill but we’ve selected just a couple to give you a taster of what can be achieved with the support of the project funding and spaces.
