After the devastating fire at the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Building of the Glasgow School of Art, a group of us got together to organise an evening of fabulous music and dance for to benefit Firefighters Charity. It will say thank you for the work and bravery of the crews from across the City of Glasgow who attended on that night.

Our Group who included Adrian Smith, an Ex Retained Firefighter from the old Highland and Island Brigade and salsa dancer, Shannon Sheills a formidable Glasgow based businesswoman, salsa dancer and salsa teacher and Pauline McNiell Ex MSP for Glasgow Govan, salsa dancer and singer. We asked the salsa community and others to come together to give their time and talents to raise money for the Firefighters Charity and they have exceeding all of our expectations.

The Art School, which is the Student Association Building, 20 Scott Street, Glasgow, is a unique centre for the arts in Glasgow; it faces the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Building of the Glasgow School of Art and is the perfect venue for our charity gig.

Musically our evening is diverse; we open downstairs in the Vic bar (300 Capacity) with MC4 who play extensively in Glasgow some of you may have seen them recently on the Brunswick Stage over Glasgow 2014 where they played to huge acclaim, they are an acoustic cover band and are headed out on lead vocals by Pauline McNeill.

They are closely followed by Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, who continue to play on Buchannan Street, and around the City of Glasgow, they are definitely a band on the up, with a superb repertoire of blues, jazz and funk. The rest of the evening, providing you have the legs for it, will be filled until our midnight close, with classic sixties hits from our Dj’s. At 7pm we open the second floor in the Assembly Hall (500 Capacity), literally upstairs in the same venue, with the very best salsa Dj’s in Scotland and beyond, before our headline act takes to the stage. Lino G Rocha is an internationally renowned singer, who has played around the world with some of the finest salsa artistes, including Salsa Celtica, Son al Son and others.

The venue will be open from 5m, for drink and to meet friends, we hope to greet as many of you as possible, please have you tickets ready when you arrive, which can be bought from anyone of our ticket sellers or on line from Tickets Scotland, the online link will be displayed above.
