Eugene Chadbourne is many things to many people. Eugene Chadbourne is DOC CHAD, banjo extraordinaire, soapbox politician, expert meanderer through the annals of bluesgrass and country.

Eugene Chadbourne is at the helm of the PSYCHEDELIC BASEMENT, riffing and spitting hard through noise, psyche, rock and Shockabilly. With a band of Glaswegian noiseniks only once before seen in this incarnation, expect a rare adventure into Eugene’s more thumping repertoire.

Eugene Chadbourne is EDDIE CHATTERBOX, jazz sage, playing open all manner of standards, forgotten gems and momentary expressions. He is accompanied by Glasgow jazz drum legend Billy Kettle and late-night sax hammerer Sybren Renema. Each night has a support slot featuring one local act inkeeping with Eugene’s eclectic, DIY vision: Howie Reeve joins us first, dragging his bass and lungs in all manner of unlikely and emotional directions. Then it’s Death Shanties, sketching a land where careering improvised sax meets folk deconstruction, backed by wild multi-media shapes and colours. Finally, S I N K, who have sound-tracked everything from French Surrealist cinema to Botanical Gardens, will bring their expansive improvised melodies to the Art School.
