Intersectional Feminism Society

The Glasgow School of Art’s Intersectional Feminism Society is a society centered around gender issues and hence open to members of any sex. Our members recognize the effect of society’s systematic and restrictive views on gender as a binary system, and the stigmatization of prescribed gender roles. We recognize the existence of power relations and privilege. We do also recognize that questions of gender does not exist in isolation but is tied to other factors of oppression such as class and ethnicity and we will follow a tradition of intersectionality.

The aims of our society is to promote gender equality on campus, within the local community and globally. We are open to collaboration with external groups, political and other. We aim to open up to discussion about related questions and questions combining gender and art.
